The mission

The Olive Tree Initiative is dedicated to making a lasting difference in the fight against climate change and Poverty. We support reforestation and afforestation projects using native olive trees, which provide long-term economic benefits, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and revitalize ecosystems. By supporting our cause, you can help create a positive impact on the environment and contribute to sustainable economic development in the region.

Iraq and Nature

Decades of conflict have devastated Iraq's natural environment and ecosystems. Deforestation, habitat loss, and pollution have left the country in dire need of restoration and recovery. The Olive Tree Initiative is committed to helping Iraq regain its natural beauty and biodiversity

Ineffective NGO Efforts

Current NGO initiatives in Iraq often lack a long-term vision, focusing on immediate needs without addressing the root causes of the issues. The Olive Tree Initiative aims to create lasting change by fostering sustainable economic development and restoring local ecosystems.

Fertile Soil and Historical Significance

Northern Iraq is blessed with fertile soil and a rich history of olive tree cultivation. By reintroducing olive trees to this region, The Olive Tree Initiative is reviving a part of Iraq's cultural heritage while also promoting environmental sustainability.

Economic Change through Olive Trees

The Olive Tree Initiative empowers local communities by providing them with a sustainable source of income through olive tree cultivation. With time, our project can grow organically, creating long-lasting economic benefits for the people of the region

Project stages

Stage 1 Concept

The Olive Tree Initiative was born from a desire to make a lasting difference in the fight against climate change. Our team conducted extensive research and planning to develop a project that would not only benefit the environment but also create lasting economic change

Stage 2 Partnerships

In Phase two we will form partnerships with farmers, landowners, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of our reforestation projects. The initial land for the project will be provided by the local Church in one of the war affected small christian  towns north of Mosul, where all profit from this land will be reinvested in planting more trees on the churches lands. We also aim to negotiate with local farmers and landowners to change their land form mono agriculture planting to an olive orchard. where we will help them make the transition with providing the trees and taking care of the trees until they are self sufficient. In return, the farmers will sign a contract to share 30% of the profits to be reinvested in planting more trees. Therefore insuring the project will grow later organically.By working together, we will be able to achieve our shared goals and create a brighter future for the dying region.

Stage 3 Donors and Organizations

Our outreach efforts engage donors and organizations that share our vision for a greener planet. Through fundraising and carbon credit purchases, we can secure the necessary support to make our projects a reality.

Stage 4 Planting our first 100 trees

Our team carefully selects planting sites and works with local communities to establish new olive tree groves. We provide ongoing maintenance and monitoring to ensure the success of our reforestation efforts. This land will be donated by the local church

Stage 5 Planting our first 1000 trees

Planting our first 1000 trees, by incentivizing a few farmers to be the first adaptors. we believe that with other farmers seeing the trees survive year after year more would participate in the program

As a result - Infinite Growth

The self-sustaining nature of the Olive Tree Initiative allows for continuous growth and expansion. As the project progresses, our impact on the environment and local communities will only continue to grow. Hoping that one day we surpass the one million tree mark
